The fuel/oil heat exchanger consists of a tube bundle and shell assembly. Fuel-flow through the tube bundle cools the oil flow around the tubes.

Cold fuel is directed from the fuel in port through passages in the core to the fuel out port. This fuel cools oil from the integrated drive generator system.
